I've read about it and watched every movie since I was a kid. If there was a time machine. It would be my first trip back in time. My fantasy has always been to be a fighter pilot in the ETO.

My Maternal Grand Uncle was in the Polish Calvary in 1939. He lost an Arm and a Leg in battle and managed to get to the UK on one of the last ships out of Poland.
His family saved enough to bring him to NYC at the end of WWII. He became very wealthy running a trucking business. I only got to meet him once at a wedding. He taught me how to Polka. When we are done dancing for an Hour I asked him why he only danced with the young girls. He told me " I don't want to get lucky with the old women" He was a Man. |
