good sunday morning. this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

quiet day planned. little puttering around the house, watch some football later. have a deer neck in the crockpot, will turn that into BBQ sammiches for dinner.

it's that time of year again....no, not for the election. all the PE licenses in FL expire next Feb, and starting next month, you can renew your license. but.... (there is always a BUT).... every license needs to show that they have taken and passed 18 hours of professional development courses. at their expense of course.

i let my licenses lapse the last time they came up for renewal, have no plans to make them active again, but i'm still on plenty of email lists, so i get a barrage of emails offering me the best, cheapest, easiest to pass, most relevant.... courses, just sign up, pay, and you'll pass! they promise.

sorry, not doing it. saving my money for other things. like food.

Started auging post holes today. Had my dad out to spot for me. For the Norh fence line, there must be a huge sand stone slab about 2.5 foot down. And it kept binding up the auger as it started to go through it. Got all but one post done on that fence line and I sheared a shear bolt on the auger. And of course I didn't have any spares in that size. So that shut down the day there. Just got back from Tractor supply with a couple packs of shear bolts. I'll have to get the post hole diggers out to see what's down there that the auger is biting into.

Did I mention that my tractor does not have power steering? Yeah, I'm wore out. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

about 7k of unplanned spending this month.....

and my pacemaker model is the subject of a patient advisory. a few, very few, have experienced much shorter battery lives than expected. mine is fine so far. last they checked, it had about 3 years of battery life remaining.

True. The posts are eight footers. I was planning on dropping 3 feet into the ground and five above. But what the hell, trimming 6 inches off the top of the post sounds easier right now.

I'd call that a scary Oct surprise!

So what happens in 3 yrs? Cut you open and replace the battery. Will that stop the heart or mess up the heart rhythm?

nah. i'm pretty sure they monitor me while they swap the units. unplug 3 leads, remove, insert new unit, plug in 3 leads, program it, good to go. one day in the hospital.

problem is doggie, Leah. she'll miss me. and if we have to get this done in Albuquerque, then we'll have to find someone to pet sit her while Mrs. DAB drives me home and worries about me that night in the local hotel room. wanna stay in the guesthouse for a few days? free?

nothing exciting but i did catch a lot of people making u turns on my property , i am getting more cameras as we speak
