My insanely expensive Z06 will be here at, or about, the surgery, AND, the new 700 HP engine for my 2008 Z06 monster will be here too. Add in the fact that I can't bend past 90 degrees for 3 months and there you have it. Talk about a cash shit storm. Down payment on the Z06, final payment on the '08 Z06 engine ($9k), and co-pay on surgery ($5k), holy crap is my cash disappearing.

I won't be able to put the engine into the '08 Z until the fall. That poor car only has 14k miles, and this will be the 3rd engine. Albeit, 700 hp of NA fury.

You're going to be broke and broke.

The 90 degrees is what I am worried about. Do the math and rent a chair. You will thank me. Get a big fluffy one you will be sleeping in it.

After 6 weeks post hip replacement surgery, my doc said I could do anything past 90 degrees.
Crossing legs is a no no though. Never could or wanted to do that anyway.

Nope. I've got this.

Wife and I have zero debt, and the Z06 loan will only be the 2nd note that we hold. I paid off her car a year ago (at $800 a month) and am taking that 800 and applying to the 1500 on my '21 Z51. House is the only other note, and has $400k equity. Z06 will also get an additional $200/month autopay to buy down the interest. We do NOT add new debt without serious consideration. Credit cards always paid off, and only 2 notes, that end up being about 40% of my take home...we're just fine.

They make a big wheel kit for the walker. GET IT !!!!

Those little wheels will get caught on everything and the big wheels smooth out a LOT.

Yes, I am completely serious. We did this for my MIL and it's a game changer.

Here's an ebay link for reference.

Get one of these. It was much better for my mom than a regular walker.

You will be.

That walker above is a good idea for 2 reasons, If you're out and about, you have an instant seat. #2 is since the first hip is being done, the other side will need it sooner or later.

You can probably find a walker cheaper at a goodwill or 2nd hand store or possible garage sale.

Fukkett go all the way and do onboard air with a train horn. And might as well add solar and an inverter while she’s on the lift.

I seem to recall that there were physical limitations that prevented you from getting the surgery earlier. Yes? My point is that I had my anterior hip surgery done and not having to use any canes or aids prior to surgery. Sounds like your condition is/was severe. My pain was bad but by your description nowhere near as bad as yours.
If so, I truly wish you the most positive outcome. I have mentioned it several times earlier that I was walking around a chili fest 2 days after surgery w/o any pain, canes or walkers. Best thing I have had done as far as several medical procedures including 2 shoulder surgeries. My hockey playing days came back to haunt me in my senior years.
Once again, wishing you the most positive outcome!

Screw buying a tricked out walker. That hip hurts like a mofo the last few months. Don't cave. Have a walker that works that you want to throw in the trash two days after the THR.

I knew in the evening of my afternoon THR that it was better because my leg didn't flinch when I put weight on it. Hallway and stair exercises in the evening and released in the morning. Walker first day and then crutches for a couple more.

You're about the same age as my first and I'm fighting to keep the other.

Be careful.. Don't go too fast with that thing
The tires are too little and you may lose traction doing fast corners.
