There is a real reason why 1964 was considered to be the end of the baby boomer generation. In 1965, the number of live births in the US dropped below 4 million for the first time since 1953.

I always thought it was because 20 years was considered to be a "generation."

Babies born in 1945 through 1964 is 20 years.

Boomer has been rebranded by progressives to group and marginalized individuals who don’t go along with the new woke agenda being used to globalize America. I wear it as a badge of honor for what seems to have become the last generation of normal self reliant Americans.

What about "The Greatest Generation" -- all good people, right? Well they had their bums, rapists, murders, mobsters, and con artists too.

The younger generations just invented the Boomer division so they can blame their lack of civility, work ethic, laziness, and being unmotivated cuz their parents are still supporting them on someone else.
yeah but the greatest generation took care of their rapists and murderers the right way

It's more like 30. Unless you are from West Virginia, then it's 15.

Let's see.

No tats. No hog ring in the nose. And I know which restroom to use.

I must be a boomer.

Boomers are those born in the years 1946-1964, 19 birth years.

I have no idea who, or how, it got decided when "Generation X" ended, or "Millennials", etc., but each of them has fewer birth years than the "baby boomers". It doesn't make any real sense, as even the baby boom "generation" was more or less randomly assigned, as the other generations were.

The generation years are arbitrary. Some say Gen X ended in 1980. Some say 1985. Etc

Baby-boomers changed the western world -for the better!

It was our generation that broke out of the boring mums-n-dads pop music of the 50s, and launched something the world had never seen - MUSIC FOR TEENAGERS! Rock n Roll. Electrified blues! Rock bands. The great legendary British bands that still influence today. Rock concerts.

What Phil Spector described his music as "Little Symphonies for Kids".

Later generations take pop/rock music and concerts for granted, but they DIDN'T EXIST BEFORE US. Take the knee and THANK US.

We also introduced marijuana to young people! A mixed blessing some would say, and of course open to abuse, but this and the revolutionary psychedelics like LSD changed the world too. Now mind-expanding drug use is part of western culture - for better of for worse.

We also started the Environmental Movement, and it was a healthy movement, which today has been hijacked by climate extremists & idiots like the Swedish Doom Goblin.

Nevertheless, it is authentic at heart. Nobody cared much before we started Greenpeace, Save The Whales, World Wildlife Fund, plus all the alternative energy systems such as wind & solar, and living off-grid, that are semi-mainstream today.

And then there is the alternative religion aspect. It was in the Sixties that Masters from the East came to the West for the first time, because we were the first generation with a spiritual thirst that our traditional spirituality may not have satisfied. Today yoga and meditation are everywhere, but we were the pioneers.

As for the hippies and their sloppy irresponsibilty raising sloppy kids and being responsible for "today's ills", I'll not argue with that, but the hippies were a minority anyway, and I wonder how much they bear the blame. Personally I blame the Left, who were a force in their own right, predated the hippies, and have long outlasted them.

Baby-boomer and proud.

And yes, how about a Boomer-Pride march once in awhile?

Great picture.

I built a house for a guy whose best man at his wedding was Eric Clapton.
The man had some serious music industry connections and experiences.

Yes, I had to do that yesterday.

When I see here or there that someone was born in, say, 2004 or 2006 I automatically think "So they're in diapers . . . ?"
