Default Best Buy Cuts iPhone 4 to $49.99; AT&T Cuts HTC One X to $99.99

Best Buy cuts the price of the iPhone 4 down to $49.99 (on a two-year agreement)
While the details are unclear as to whether this is a permanent price drop or just something temporary, Best Buy has recently lowered the price of the iPhone 4. The new price is $49.99, still on a two-year agreement. The retailer is offering the iPhone 4 for both Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Furthermore, this model has 8GB of internal storage and is available in either white and/or black. All said and done, it is sort of hard to make a two-year commitment to a handset that will probably be two models old in a few months time, but sometimes it is more about price than newness. And that being the case, the iPhone 4 (at $49.99) is a fairly solid offering.

AT&T makes it official, lowers the price of the HTC One X to $99.99
We heard the rumors earlier today, and well, it looks like AT&T has quietly offered up some confirmation. The price of the HTC One X has been cut in half. AT&T has officially lowered the price from $199.99 down to $99.99. Of course, that is still on a two-year agreement. The contract bit aside though, with specs to includes a 4.7-inch (720 x 1280) Super LCD touchscreen, dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 1800 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the HTC One X at $99.99 sounds like a good deal.

Apple always drops the price when a new model is about to be released to move inventory.

at first, I thought this was the reason this time. But, when that happens.... it's Apple that offers the price reduction; and it applies to all carriers.

Best Buy is doing it themselves; which is kinda strange. Maybe they got a contract with Apple ... where they'll get the new iPhone first ?

September 21 announcement with September 28 availability is what I've been reading on the interwebs.

If you're married to the iOS platform, you might want to wait until September/October, and if your current iPhone is functioning normally. If your current iPhone is not functioning correctly, then you might want look at Android offerings before jumping on the iPhone 4 or 4s.

Not married to it. My iphone 3 still works fine. The $49.99 price caught my attention. I'll check out the Android. Thanks!
