Yep, they deserve what comes to them. As someone who spent 4 years on the board of directors for my community, they should get spanked. Rich fucks think the rules don't apply to them.

Sounds like they were even offered ways to satisfy everyone without tearing down the house and they refused.

If it was mine i'd 'chop' the 20' off in order to comply and then paint a red and lime green checkerboard pattern on the whole side facing the neighbor - - after i'd cut the trees on the boundary down ..

We had an incident sort of like that recently. It took about 5 years to straighten out but the rich wise asses had to do a tear down also.

They got a permit to put a boat house on the small lake about 30 miles from me. The town was small and poor and the rich slugs tried turning that small boat house into a large house right on the water front. That “boathouse” was nicer than most of the regular houses anywhere in the area!

They had more money than the town did to fight the issue. It took about 5 years but the town finely prevailed after it went through a bunch of courts and legal bullshit. Bulldozers were sent in and the house leveled and removed from the site at the owners cost. The fight almost bankrupted the town, but finely those rich wiseasses had to conform to the law!
