Prayer Request- Surgery in the AM

Alright, here is the deal:

I somehow managed to blow a disk in my back last weekend. I was stuck in the shower and had to call an ambulance (amberlamps) to bring me to the Hospital. Luckily, myy wife was able to get some underwear and T shirt on me before they got there.

MRI on Monday followed by consultation with the surgeons. MRI shows that I hosed the disk between L5/S1 and actually pinched off part of the disk and the part is sitting on the nerve that runs down the right leg.

I originally injured it back in November of 1999 and it has gotten to the point that I need surgery and can no longer put it off.

I have no feeling on my right butt cheek, outside and rear of right thigh, right calf, and right foot and little toes. No feeling, but it is burning like a beotch and feels like a continuous charlie horse.

Surgery is scheduled for 0730 Friday am. The kicker is that this will probably end my military career (working on 22nd year).

So, if you feel so inclined, I would appreciate a prayer or two that all goes well and that my wife holds up with everything going on. Needless to say, I am a bit nervous anytime someone is doing something around my spine.

Cliffs: I goofchinked my back and am having surgery tomorrow AM.

Damn. I have a herniated disk at L5/S1. It bothers me horribly at times, but is not bad enough for surgery.

I cannot imagine what it would feel like if it was bad enough to need surgery.

I pinched a nerve in my back and lasted about 3 wks and really really SUCKED!

So yea, we take shit for granted tell that happens ...

Have you had issues in the john since the event? If so TELL THE DOCS IMMEDIATELY. That is a surgical emergency. My wife had a similar blowout and the docs missed the diagnosis. She has permanent nerve damage.
