I love mine. I don't use it often enough, but when I do it's great.

I don't have a lot to compare it to, though. But it seems to be everything that's advertised.

Heats up very quickly, easy to adjust the temperature, holds the temperature well.

The food tastes better, The meat are juicier. A steak cooked on a gas grill get seared at around 400F. On a BGE its closer to 750F. That hods in the juices.

You can also Smoke with it and slow cook with steady temps of 190-200 are perfect for ribs and brisket. Beer can chicken is the best on the BGE.

And with BGE lump charcoal I can get a large egg up to 750 in 20 minutes or less.

I have several friends that have them from the small to the large ones. If your gonna lay that kinda coil down. Better be grilling a whole lot. They do a great job. But you still have to be a decent cook to make good food. A green egg won't make you that. They really excel at slow cooking and smoking. But so do a lot of other alternatives. They also make great pizza when you really crank up the heat.
