Default What's a lid?

For those of you who grew up in the 70's I'm not talkin about weed here. I see the F body guys on LS1Tech always listing a "Lid" as one of their mods but I have no idea what this is. I thought maybe it was an air cleaner mod but I dunno. I'm not askin over there cuz I'll get the noob hammer.

"Lid" could that mean their hood? NO, they would be talking engines. Intake manifold?

It's the "lid" on the air intake that you remove to service/access the filter. Put one on that has a bigger opening and you make more power. On Corvettes the "lid" is what they changed on the 2001 Z06 and then again on the 2002-2004 cars.
